Privacy policy

This policy explains what we collect on this website, why, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.

Who we are

The Meridian Bureau ("Meridian", "we", "us") runs this website. We design and build websites and apps and manage Google Ads and SEO for businesses, from Miami.

What we collect, and why

When you send the "Let's talk" form

Your name, email, phone, your business and city, and anything you write in the message. We use it only to reply to you and talk about working together. The form is emailed to us; it is not stored in a database on this site.

When you run the free visibility check

Your business name, what you sell, your city, and your website if you add it. We use these to look up how your business shows up on Google, Google Maps and AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude). To do that, the details are sent to the companies that run those services (see "Who helps us" below).

The result is kept for 24 hours so you can request the full report, then it is deleted automatically.

When you ask for the full report by email

Your email address, so we can send you the PDF. We also send ourselves a copy of the request (your business details, email and the score) so we can follow up. That copy is kept on our system for 90 days, then deleted automatically. It also stays in our email inbox like any other business email.

Automatically, when you visit

Like every website, our hosting provider records standard technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for and when. We use it to run and secure the site.

We also count requests per IP address to stop abuse: messages from the form (counted for 1 hour), visibility checks (30 days, one free check per visitor) and report requests (24 hours). These counters hold the IP address and a number, nothing else, and expire on their own.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies for advertising, analytics or tracking, and it does not follow you across other websites. We do not show a cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookie.

The visibility check uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated bots. It runs inside the check only.

Who helps us

We share information only with companies that help us run this site and the check, and only what each one needs:

Vercel hosts the website.
Upstash stores the short-lived check results, the report request copies and the abuse counters described above.
Resend sends the form messages and report emails.
Cloudflare runs Turnstile, the bot check.
DataForSEO looks up Google and Google Maps results for the check.
OpenAI, Perplexity, Google and Anthropic answer the questions the check asks their AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude).

Each processes the information under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

How long we keep it

Visibility check results: 24 hours.
Report request copies on our system: 90 days.
Abuse counters: 1 hour to 30 days, as listed above.
Emails you send us or that reach us through the site: as long as we need them to work with you and keep business records, then deleted.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time. Email business@themeridianbureau.com and we will answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS. Our keys for the services above are kept on the server and never reach your browser, and the check and form are limited per visitor to prevent abuse. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information (such as ID numbers, passwords, health or bank details) through the form.

Children

This site is for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site.
